A Silent Place

"There's a good place, you must go" You tell
So I go to there to enjoy its smell
Coffee and books... they ease me well
I write this poem at there, I can't sell

Its staff serves me a sweet handmade cake
And also a cup of coffee that makes me awake
I just enjoy its silence. It's just a lake
Everyone never speaks. They choose not to make

Oh my! I forget saying that I'm not here with a mask
How should I do? I'm afraid, but I just ask
They forgive me so kindly though I speak just my flask

It can happen in my boring life. I've just found
And my life goes on. It's like a great merry-go-round
I can still hear the silence. Profound. No sound

静かな場所

「いいところがあるから言ってみたら」ってきみは言う
言ってみて、実際に匂いを嗅いでみる
コーヒーと本があって……ぼくはくつろぐことができる
そこでこの詩を書く。売り物にはならないけど

スタッフが手作りのケーキを出してくれるところ
そしてコーヒーも。ぼくはすっかり目が覚める
静けさを楽しむ。まるで湖面のような境地
誰もひと言もしゃべらない。音を立てたくないんだね

マスクをするのを忘れてきて、ぼくは恥ずかしい気持ちになる
どうしたらいいんだろう。怖いけれど訊いてみる
あたたかく許してもらえたけど、ぼくはわけのわからないことを言ってしまう

こんなことが退屈な人生に起こる……ぼくは見つける
そして人生はめぐる。メリーゴーランドのように
今でも静けさが聞こえる。深遠で、なんの音もしない
