A Poet is On Cloud Nine

"Is this town covered by an invisible dome?"
When I was a kid, I had this idea staying at my home
Even though I had thought I wanted to go to Rome
And now, I'm an old dude who just uses Google Chrome

Once I tried to write a long poem about my own town
But my friend's honest review made me really terribly down
When I tried to write it, I was wearing a plastic crown
I look at an empty cage and see the blue bird has flown

I'm now 48, but I still keep on dreaming
Of course, I do my duty just as I watch Netflix streaming
Somewhere in my mind, probably I'm still freewheeling

Everybody around me might say "You're staying on cloud nine"
Then I would say "Great comment. I'll use it as my poem's line"
I will try to write my one to what you will incline

クラウド・ナインの桂冠詩人

「この町は見えないドームで覆われているみたいだ」
子どもの頃、ぼくは家でこんなアイデアを温めていた
ローマに行きたいなってぼんやり考えたりもしてたんだけど
今はぼくはグーグルクロームを使うただのおっさんになった

ぼくの町について長編小説を書こうとしたこともあった
でも友だちの感想でひどく落ち込んで挫折した
書こうとしていた時、プラスチックの冠を被った詩人気取りで
今ぼくは空っぽの鳥籠を見て、青い鳥が逃げたことを悟る

48になっても夢を追い続けて止められず
もちろん義務はこなす。ネットフリックスを見るようにして
心のどこかではぼくは自由気ままに生きている

周りにいる人は「クラウド・ナイン（有頂天）の人だね」と言う
なら「いいコメントだから詩に使うよ」と返そうかと思う
きみが耳を傾けてくれる詩を書こうと頑張ってみる
